Charitable Focus: match4mission

In honor of Giving Tuesday 2024 we focus on some particularly interesting charities and non-profit organizations. The match4mission is one of those charities. It is certainly inspiring how committed they are to their cause.

The organization team reached out to us and was happy to share a few insights. One of the interesting things we learned was that the team has been using WordPress and Charitable since they went live in 2020!

How They Got Started

“Lack of funding for missions in low-economy countries prompted us to start this mission. So far, we have helped more than twenty missionaries from Africa, Asia and Latin America to be deployed to the place of God’s calling.”

As their website states: “We seek to crowd-fund up to half the cost of mission personnel, media projects and the establishing of partnerships between mission organisations.” Also, another interesting detail about the policies that the charity honors… when it comes to unspent funds – they will be returned to the donor.

Biggest Challenge: Donors

While it’s clear to see that the organization has gotten off to a good start, I asked the team what was the biggest challenges they have had. The answer was easy to get and easy to understand: “obtaining a broader base of donors”.

As project manger at Charitable and being involved in several non-profits and charities myself, I can say this is a common challenge. But it can be especially so for smaller charities, especially for ones that take their efforts on a global scale like match4mission does.

The team goes on to mention that so far they have received funding from personal contacts. “We would like to reach out to many more potential donors”.

Biggest Achievement

I also inquired about what is the biggest achievement so far for the charity: “We also have a project by which we are collecting funds to help Burmese refugees in Thailand, and so far have obtained more than £15,000”.

Wrapping Up

As they state on their website the match4mission motto is “empowering global missions, inspiring small beginnings”. In today’s world – regardless of a charity’s sincere mission – it takes a great amount of energy, effort and determination to take on any mission that stretches so far across the globe. To do that – and have success at it – isn’t easy but this charity is not only making it happen but it’s apparent they are just get started.
