In Charitable 1.8.3.6 we introduced the concept of “donation form templates” as a beta option in the General Settings of Charitable.

The “standard” – form template exists and as of this version is still the one that is seen by default. There is also a “minimal” view that attempts to reduce the space taken up by the donation form, and if you enable “not viewing required fields” in the same settings area can make Charitable’s donation form a “short form”.

Why Would I Want A Minimal Template?

If you are looking to have a donation form that is more compact (and can turn off seeing unrequired fields and not adding many or any custom fields), then this new template is worth a look. Best suited for when the donation form is on a separate page.

Where Can I Try This Feature?

The setting is available as of 1.8.3.6 and if you visit the “General” tab in settings, look in the “Donation Form” section.

Feedback

This is a “beta” setting and the “minimal” template is also beta – meaning that Charitable is still testing this across the many possible combination of WordPress themes, Charitable addons, and overall site settings.
